Welcome to the course 2 Integrated Urban Planning and Development. This course is part of the Competence Platform for Integrated Urban Development and Reconstruction in Ukraine. Further information on the Competence Platform can be found here.
Over the span of 8 weeks, this course will provide a thorough examination of strategies and tools for creating livable, resilient, and inclusive urban environments. Distinguished experts from academia and practice bring their diverse expertise from international projects to offer a critical analysis of the prevailing urban challenges we face today.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course participants will...
- be able to understand and explain what integrated urban development planning means and is for
- be able to set up an INSEK process with all elements and process steps
Target Audience
Ukrainian experts in the municipalities, Ukrainian planners, Ukrainian students, people interested in urban planning and urban development issues.
Educational Methods
The course involves expert-led video lectures, assignments to reinforce learning, real-world case studies and access to a community of professionals and peers. There is a discussion forum in the course where you can ask questions about the individual chapters and exchange ideas with other participants.
Course Structure
The course consist of 8 chapters. Each chapter is also divided into theoretical sections, tools and case studies. It has a total length of 60 to 90 minutes and is divided into several lessons. A lesson consists of a video of 10-15 minutes. At the end of each chapter there is a recap part with a review and test as well as a short summary of the chapter via learning objectives.
