Building on a brief historical overview, the most important strategies and theoretical foundations will be taught. The recommended strategies are developed both in terms of their urban theory foundations and their individual strategic elements, and illustrated using various case studies from different countries. Particular aspects of urban regeneration and reconstruction that are particularly relevant today and especially important in Ukrainian cities are explored in separate chapters. The tools for urban regeneration and reconstruction are systematically presented in the final chapter. These are equally relevant for the various challenges and contexts of the topic of this course.
