Welcome to the course 3 Urban Design. This course is part of the Competence Platform for Integrated Urban Development and Reconstruction in Ukraine.

Over the span of 8 weeks, this course will provide a thorough examination of strategies and tools for creating livable, resilient, and inclusive urban environments. Distinguished experts from academia and practice bring their diverse expertise from international projects to offer a critical analysis of the prevailing urban challenges we face today.

  • have an overview about the main theories and methods of urban design
  • have an overview about main aspects of urban design like housing, climate, mobility, resilience

Outline

The course consist of 8 chapters. Each chapter is also divided into theoretical sections, tools and case studies. It has a total length of 60 to 90 minutes and is divided into several lessons. A lesson consists of a video of 10-15 minutes and/or a text/reading part of 10-15 minutes. At the end of each chapter there is a recap part with a review and test as well as a short summary of the chapter.
