Welcome to the course 1 Processes and Formats of Spatial Planning. This course is part of the Competence Platform for Integrated Urban Development and Reconstruction in Ukraine.

Over the span of 8 weeks, this course will provide a thorough examination of strategies and tools for creating livable, resilient, and inclusive urban environments in Ukraine. Distinguished experts from academia and practice bring their diverse expertise from international projects to offer a critical analysis of the prevailing urban challenges we face today.

Чого можна навчитися на цьому курсі?

By the end of the course, participants will have a first overview of the concepts and methods of urban planning and how these are applied in instruments and processes in Ukraine. 

Specifically, the individual planning steps and the necessary planning documentation will be explained and presented in their structure. The planning system and the different types of plans in Ukraine are explained in detail. Standards and laws that apply to urban planning in Ukraine are conveyed.

Practical application cases for urban planning in Ukraine are presented as well as useful tools and methods to implement planning.


Структура

The course consist of 8 chapters. Each chapter is also divided into theoretical sections, tools and case studies. It has a total length of 60 to 90 minutes and is divided into several lessons. A lesson consists of a video of 10-15 minutes and/or a text/reading part of 10-15 minutes. At the end of each chapter there is a recap part with a review and test as well as a short summary of the chapter.
